I renamed grubx64.efi into EFIBootootx64.efi. Now everything is ok. As I understand it, some models of Sony VAIO use only the bootx64.efi boot loader.

Set the scale special variable:

This is just your window manager (I'm guessing Unity) that crashed. Unless is not something big, just restarting should bring things to normal.
