In Ubuntu we have command: rfkill which can turn off wireless devices. For example:
rfkill list
You will see something like this:
0: sony-wifi: Wireless LAN Soft blocked: no Hard blocked: no
1: sony-bluetooth: Bluetooth Soft blocked: no Hard blocked: no
2: sony-wwan: Wireless WAN Soft blocked: no Hard blocked: no
3: phy0: Wireless LAN Soft blocked: no Hard blocked: no
4: hci0: Bluetooth Soft blocked: no Hard blocked: no
It means that all devices are working. If you want to block for example bluetooth type:
rfkill block 4
After that rfkill list
will show
0: sony-wifi: Wireless LAN Soft blocked: no Hard blocked: no
1: sony-bluetooth: Bluetooth Soft blocked: no Hard blocked: no
2: sony-wwan: Wireless WAN Soft blocked: no Hard blocked: no
3: phy0: Wireless LAN Soft blocked: no Hard blocked: no
4: hci0: Bluetooth Soft blocked: yes Hard blocked: no
If you want to block all devices type: rfkill block all
to unblock: rfkill unblock all
