There is a known problem with transmission: it can't download torrents with filenames longer than 255 bytes. What are the workarounds?

The problem is the common Linux file systems only support up to 255 characters filename lengths. Yet the FAT32 file system supports longer filenames, and Linux supports it just fine!

The solution then is to just download to a FAT32 formatted partition. Any external storage should work (we usually keep pen drives FAT32 for compatibility with Windows anyway). Or you can just create your own partition.
