Finally found this was unity-control-center
. I expected it to have keywords "settings" or "system" or "configuration", but I did not use the full power of my imagination :)
Did in ~:
rm -rf ./.local/share/nautilus ./.config/nautilus
And this fixed the problem
It looks like S.M.A.R.T. was right at the end and your hard disk failed to me.
All the messages that you are receiving, both at boot and with the live CD are related to problems reading...
It is just safer to use visudo
. You can edit gpg --list-keys
Find your key id: pub 2048R/deadb33f 2012-03-10
uid Something <[email protected]>
gpg --edit-key 0xdeadb33f...
