I managed to fix this issue installing bumblebee, after the restart everything is working correctly, Shell & Compiz on Gnome Classic

If you have 2.4GHz wireless working but 5GHz wireless is not being detected at all, then it's most likely a configuration issue depending on the router.

You have to try MATE as in Ubuntu MATE. Install it with

sudo apt update
sudo apt install ubuntu-mate-desktop^

then reboot, login to MATE session and enjoy...
